IT STARTs WITH
rock n roll
I grew up loving making noise, music, playing video games. Slash in trance on his Les Paul, Kurt Cobain’s brutal tenderness, Koji Kondo 8-bit magic, seeing mom’s students play the piano in our living room or rock out in my hometown’s local bands – there was a language I could understand, there was a language I could speak.
After many years working in audio I’ve developed an eclectic repertoire, fueled by my passion for experimenting with sounds and owing to the character of my brain, picking up snippets from all sorts of places. I received my Audio Engineering Diploma at the SAE Institute in Vienna, Austria, in 2013 and have gained professional experience in music, video games and film, as a Composer, Sound Designer, Engineer, Recordist and Musician.
My excitement for game audio design was especially sparked when I was invited to a Video Game Jam. Nostalgia and future visions washed over me and I realized how much I really loved the work and thus bringing a world to life. There I met the founders of Dirty Paws, an Austrian video game studio, who asked me to do their sound design and music and that has been one of the best experiences.
Whether it’s the sound of the coin in Super Mario or the intro to Sweet Child O’ Mine, it’s the place where these pieces came from that harbors my inspiration to create something beautiful, unique and memorable, or better still, unforgettable. These are the notes and sounds you can only find with your eyes closed and your vision beyond the horizon. So when I’m crafting sounds and music, I want it to mean something. Something to look back upon and know I was there.
